Set in the present, Little Fugitive is a remake of Morris Engel's 1953 award-winning classic.
With his father (Peter Dinklage) in jail and his mother (Justina Machado) working long hours at a nursing home, Lenny, age 11, is burdened with the responsibility of looking after his younger brother, Joey, age 7.
Lenny plays a practical joke on his little brother. When the joke goes too far, Joey runs away to Coney Island. Lenny searches for Joey. As night falls and Joey does not return, Lenny fears the worst. He regrets his actions and becomes more and more desperate to find his little brother—alive and unharmed.
Nicolas Salgado and David Castro star as the two brothers. The film is set in present day Brooklyn.
Co-starring Peter Dinklage, Brendan Sexton III, Justina Machado, Lois Smith, Sophie Dahl, Austin Carpenter and Raquel Castro.
“A moving remake...deftly directed...An assured mixture of charm and depth...”

“A lovely ode to childhood—and to Brooklyn”
— ”L” Magazine
"A beautifully remade version… Those familiar with the 1953 film should easily embrace this film as something fresh and new, while appreciating Lipper's homage to the original. She's someone we'll be hearing more from in the future."
